Britta Dezillie
Dr, C-IAYT, Yoga Therapy Institute of Amstelveen
Britta earned a PhD and worked at CERN (Switzerland), BNL (USA), and Hefei University (China) in the field of medical and non-medical detector physics.
When she began to suffer from auto-immune conditions she sought and found relief in yoga therapy, whereupon she became a C-IAYT yoga therapist herself. She was trained in New Zealand and at the Yoga Therapy Institute of Amstelveen, where she also served for several years as a staff member, teacher, and student mentor. She is a massage practitioner and certified Trigger & Fascia Therapist.
Her therapeutic sessions are uniquely tailored “blends” of different modalities, combining practices such as Yogalates (Yoga combined with Pilates), Swiss Ball, Trigger and Fascia Therapy, relaxation techniques, breathwork, Do-In, and Aqua Yoga.
Britta specialises in chair Yoga for seniors and people suffering from limited mobility, as well as support for people living with Parkinson’s disease, recovering from stroke, and those affected by cancer. She also accompanies patients and their families through palliative care.
At CERN in Switzerland, she teaches courses focused on spine health and workplace wellbeing. She uses TRX as a therapeutic tool and brings creativity and enjoyment to her classes through a wide range of simple props.
Britta’s Yoga Therapy sessions are a true source of energy and wellbeing trough body awareness and lengthening to create space throughout the entire body - where body and mind meet. This holistic approach is inspired by the Māori concept of “Pikorua”, which she embraced during her time living in New Zealand.
Currently, Britta offers sessions online and teaches in person at the French-Swiss border as well as in Belgium, her home country.
